The task of Lot 812 is to treat and dispose of the following types of water:
- drainage waters of the final deposit (DD);
- surface runoff water from the finalrepository;
- water from roads and yard yards.
In addition to this, it is also responsible for treating the followingpollutants/parameters: suspended solids, pH, nitrite, AOX1, oils, hydrocarbons,and temperature.
Watermust be treated so that it can be discharged into the natural receptor (Vedeggio River) and/or be reused within theconstruction site area at Sigirino. The contractor is responsible fortreating the construction site water and checking that the limit values forwater discharge into the receptors are met. When the natural receptor does notallow it, or if the water quality is insufficient for discharge into a receptordue to causes beyond the contractor's control, the treated water may bedischarged into the existing consortium sewer provided that the qualityrequirements for discharge into the sewer are met. The plant is also equippedwith a sewer connection so that partially treated water whose quality isinsufficient for discharge into a natural receptor can be disposed of in anemergency.
Thesizing flow rate set by the Client is 20 l/s. The plant is of modular type soas to activate specific treatments according to site needs and phases.
