GENZANA UNDERPASS

PIZZAROTTI SA has been awarded, as a partner of the “SoGe 01” Consortium made up of the companies Ennio Ferrari SA, Mancini & Marti SA, Walo Bertschinger SA and Geodil SA, the preliminary lot for the Genzana underpass of the Lugano FFS station, in the Municipalities of Lugano and Massagno. 
 
The award concerns the first lot - for a works cost of approx. 3.6 million Swiss francs (just under 4 million euros) - of a larger project aimed at renewing the important road underpass of the Lugano railway station, of fundamental importance for improving accessibility, safety of the railway area, fluidity and quality of public and private transport, with an expected total investment of approximately 40 million Swiss francs (41 million euros). 

The works for Lot 1 will include a series of preliminary works essential for the future realization of the entire project: excavations and temporary supports, the construction of the foundations for the installation of four temporary bridges for the trains, adaptations of various elements of railway technology and the installation of gravel retainers. 
 
The company's experience and expertise in the construction sector represent a highly significant added value for this important infrastructure project. 
The works began a few days ago and Pizzarotti SA is ready to face this new challenge and contribute to the improvement of Lugano's railway infrastructure network.
